Honeywell has been awarded a contract by Malaysia Airports (Sepang) to deploy a new airfield ground lighting control and monitoring system at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia.

The upgraded lighting control system will help provide efficient and safe operation for aircraft traffic, as well as provide real-time location information on lamp failures.

The General Civil Aviation Authority has awarded a contract to GuardREC, a Norway-based software company and a subsidiary of Hatteland Display, for a digital recording solution.

The GuardREC solution will be installed at the area control centre (ACC) and the emergency area control centre (EACC) in Abu Dhabi to improve recording capabilities and provide seamless and synchronised flight information.

The new European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Standard 3 explosives detection systems-compliant scanners will improve security and efficiency at the airport.

Deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2018 and 2021.  

Australia-based Brisbane Airport has entered a memorandum of understanding with Chongqing Airport Group to strengthen commercial development.

Under the Sister-Airport agreement, the partners will collaborate to provide a direct flight service between Brisbane and Chongqing.

In addition to commercial development, the partnership will also focus on tourism market development.
