DFS, the German air navigation service provider has entrusted SkySoft-ATM with a new contract to expand in the new control room in Karlsruhe the
video, voice and serial data solution from SkySoft-ATM.
The new SkyRec BlackBox will equip 41 additional controller working positions in the Karlsruhe control centre as well as tests
environment and training platforms in Bremen, Langen and Munich control centres.
“We had a very successful implementation of the VRAP project in Karlsruhe in 2009 and 2010 and the solution has achieved all our expectations. This is the reason why it was a very easy and clear decision for DFS to activate the contract option for VRAP Phase 2,” says Karlheinz Teichmann who conducted this initiative from the beginning.
“We are very proud of the success of the first phase of the VRAP project and of the confidence DFS is showing in our solution and team with this second phase,” says Didier Berling the deputy managing director of SkySoft-ATM. “Our new SkyRec Blackbox is also the result of a close cooperation between DFS and SkySoft-ATM. Here again our focus is to design solutions with users and for users.”
The SkyRec Blackbox is the second generation of COTS hardware based ATC data recording solution and benefits from the operational experience of SkySoft-ATM in the ATC environment. It is scalable, high-performing and can be implemented on any air traffic control system.
