EUROCONTROL’s air traffic management (ATM) Surveillance Tracker and Server, ARTAS, is the most deployed tracker in Europe and one of the most advanced and successful surveillance data processing systems in the world. Frequentis Comsoft has been EUROCONTROL’s Industrial Partner for centralised ARTAS maintenance and operational support since 2001. It is also a turnkey supplier of ARTAS systems.
“ARTAS has received continuous enhancements since its creation, and the trusted partnership between EUROCONTROL and Frequentis Comsoft has also developed steadily over the years. We are pleased to be supporting the further enhancement of this reliable surveillance tool and look forward to all the benefits this will bring for the user,” states Frequentis Comsoft managing director and Frequentis ATM executive board member Constantin von Reden, Frequentis.
ARTAS was developed by EUROCONTROL, on behalf of its member states, and applies the latest multi-sensor tracking technology to deliver an outstanding level of accuracy and reliability using PSR, SSR, Mode-S, ADS-B, and Multilateration surveillance sources. ARTAS acts as core engine for the European surveillance infrastructure, making it an important technology for current and future air traffic management demands.
In 2020, EUROCONTROL awarded Frequentis Comsoft a further five-year contract for support, but the two partners have now concluded another service agreement for additional support in the evolution and continuous enhancement of the ARTAS tracker.
“The new service contract is another sign that ARTAS is in the best hands with Frequentis Comsoft. We greatly appreciate the cooperation with the team and thank them for their good ideas and tireless commitment,” says EUROCONTROL ARTAS and SDDS Services Manager Antonio Principe.
The Frequentis Comsoft team is also a turnkey supplier of ARTAS systems, offering a comprehensive and field-proven ARTAS service portfolio to Air Traffic Service providers within EUROCONTROL member states and worldwide.
