In September 2016 Belgocontrol and Entry Point North entered into a framework agreement for ATCO Initial training. The agreement is awarded after a successful evaluation of a call for tender in July and is valid for one year with a possible extension of three additional years.

Currently Entry Point North is training 13 ab-initio students from Belgium on a basic ATC course. The course started in July is being delivered in a full compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 and in accordance with Entry Point North’s proven training philosophy and methodology. Following the new agreement the students will continue on approach and tower rating courses in Malmö, Sweden.

Furthermore, based on the framework agreement, 15 new ab-initio students will start a new basic ATC course in November this year and will also continue on approach and tower rating courses. In spring 2017 one more group of 15 students will be offered the same training programme.

Entry Point North is especially pleased to be selected to deliver ATCO Initial training for Belgocontrol – a central European ANSP. The academy with its training sites in Sweden, Ireland, Hungary and Denmark has successfully delivered its services to more than 80 clients from 32 countries all around the world.

“Belgocontrol will be recruiting and training approximately 45 ATCOs in the forthcoming two years and this exceeds the capacity of its own training centre. Therefore the company has entered into a partnership agreement with Entry Point North, a proven provider of ATC training. This collaboration allows us to reinforce the operational ATCO teams in a shorter period of time,” says Mr. Johan Decuyper, CEO at Belgocontrol.
