Black Box, a leading IT solutions and consulting services provider to businesses worldwide, today announced the release of its next-generation IoT solution purpose-built for infrastructure monitoring: the AlertWerks AW3000 wireless gateway. Supporting both long-range wireless communication (up to 10km) via the LoRaWAN protocol and short-range wireless communication via Bluetooth, this turnkey IoT solution can be integrated with a limitless range of wireless sensors, virtual sensors, dashboards and analytics. Black Box will showcase the Alertwerks AW3000 at SPS 2023 from 14-16 November in Nuernberg, Hall 5, Stand 119.

AlertWerks AW3000 actively monitors conditions, records on-site events, and automates key actions remotely to increase efficiency, prevent system failures and downtime, maintain safety and security, and optimise the physical environment.

“With analytics that help to reduce integrated system failures and downtime, as well as its ability to automate key actions, and its straightforward setup and configuration, the AlertWerks AW3000 wireless gateway is an easy-to-use solution for optimising modern infrastructure while realising cost and energy savings,” said Black Box IoT product manager Bob Antoniazzi. “Through its simple browser interface, from virtually anywhere, users can remotely monitor and protect the stability of their assets and processes, 24/7. In addition to reducing downtime, waste, and expense, this IoT solution provides visibility into real-time events, helping to reveal previously unknown system issues and enabling predictive decision-making.”

Ideal for manufacturing, distributed networks and smart buildings, the AlertWerks AW3000 enables users to link to physical sensors, configure virtual sensors, watch values on a browser-based dashboard, set notifications and alarms, and configure automatic actions. Additionally, for the ultimate intelligent control room solution, the AW3000 is integrated with Black Box’s industry-leading Emerald® KVM-over IP products. With links to environmental and activity sensors, the AlertWerks AW3000 facilitates active remote monitoring of conditions to enforce security, maximize efficiency and streamline operations.

While other gateways only push data to the cloud, the AlertWerks AW3000 wireless gateway also maintains all the needed intelligence on-premises, delivering data via the fast, scalable LoRaWAN/BLE platform. All data is stored on an open platform with an accessible SQL database. The gateway offers customisable dashboards and provides visualisation tools including maps and floorplans in 2D or 3D.
