UFIS Airport Solutions (UFIS-AS) has been awarded a contract by Chisinau International Airport, Republic of Moldova, to supply its HTML-based flight information display system (WebFIDS), together with its flight information management module. These applications are part of UFIS-AS’s complete solutions portfolio – the universal flight information system (UFIS®). With Chisinau Airport as a new customer, UFIS-AS expands its presence in the central and Eastern European market.
WebFIDS is one of the recent additions to the UFIS® portfolio and is currently installed at Delhi International Airport. WebFIDS provides the same reliability and industry-proven functionality as the classic FIDS solutions, with the added flexibility of being able to use any PC-based controller that has Windows or Linux as the display controller. WebFIDS is an ideal solution for any size of airport, from the smallest up to major international hubs, with more than 400 displays.

Chisinau Airport serves the capital city of the Republic of Moldova and the surrounding region. The terminal, built in 1970 and upgraded in 2000, has a processing capacity of 1.2 million passengers per year. Currently, passenger numbers are increasing by 20-25% annually, and since 2003, the number of passengers has doubled. At present, the airport is developing a project to expand.
