Munich, Germany– Smiths Detection launched its revolutionary automatic X-ray inspection system HI-SCAN 7555aTiX especially designed for checked baggage and air cargo at inter airport europe 2009.
HI-SCAN 7555 aTiX automatically detects explosives in parcels, packages, air cargo, and checked baggage. It also alerts security officers to the presence of liquids in a bag.
It is the latest member of the aTiX product family, which features automatic explosives and liquid detection, performing with a high detection rate and very low false alarm rates through the application of optimized algorithms. Like its technology kin 6040aTiX, 7555aTiX facilitates even complex analytical processes in real-time without hampering proven checkpoint protocols.
Retaining the successful HI-SCAN operating concept, the new Smiths Detection X-ray machine guarantees optimum throughput at checkpoints, in forwarding hubs and carrier sites. It was especially engineered to handle parcels, packages, carry-on and checked baggage in its aperture opening of 75cm x 55cm, which even allows for the passage of small and medium cargo.
With a duty conveyor load maximum of 250kg, break bulk is easily screened and the 7555aTiX can be fully integrated in network environments for system management, facilitating archiving, image distribution and TIP functionalities. It also features the renowned Smiths Heimann high-resolution dual-view image quality that enables operators to find prohibited items more quickly even in the most cluttered suitcase, box or crate. The two detailed views support the quick and reliable evaluation process, as the shape and size information of concealed objects is much more precise. This helps reduce the time for manual re-checks.
