A steady reduction in the time that maintenance teams are able to spend airside is calling for an even greater understanding of the products around them therefore maintaining a safe and reliable airfield.

Another facet of ATG airports’ AGL expertise involves providing specialist training courses, designed to compliment the other airfield activities of the company. The range of courses provided include general training for both civil and military personnel in airfield lighting design and maintenance, modular control systems, constant current regulators, airfield lighting products and safety procedures to be employed when working on the many aspects of airfield lighting.

In today’s industrial climate where health and safety is paramount, the competence of the on-site operatives is of the utmost importance. Airfield technicians and engineers use a wide range of skills in support of airport operations and their competence in these activities is attained through on the job experience and appropriately structured training. ATG airports provides specialist training courses in airfield lighting equipment and working practices to support these needs.

Regardless of how many standard courses we provide we realise there will always be some aspect which requires being specific to your installation. To satisfy these requirements, ATG airports also offers bespoke training courses, written to meet the needs of an individual airport, these courses can also be delivered at the airport location if required. Over the last few months ATG have welcomed visitors to our training courses from India and Norway as well as providing on site training at airfields in Egypt, Turkey and Malta.

Generally the courses offered are based on UK civil and military requirements; however we also welcome enquiries from overseas personnel as we have available training courses based upon ICAO and other major international standards.

The quality of the trainers is of paramount importance and we pride ourselves in the fact that our trainers have both extensive training as well site experience. Indeed this experience can be traced back over 30 years of providing military courses and industrial maintenance. This provides them with the unique quality of not only understanding the theoretical principles but also the practical applications. They are also well aware of the difficulties and pressures of maintaining systems on modern airfields.
