Lanner Electronics, a leading designer and ODM manufacturer of intelligent embedded computer systems, today announced the release of the VW-1104, a compact mobile DVR platform built on the Intel® Atom™ CPU and offering WiFi, 3G mobile and GPS communications along with four-channel H.264 video capture and compression.
The VW-1104 is designed for installation in vehicles such as trains, buses and emergency vehicles where its combination of real-time communications and video technologies let customers build advanced intelligent transportation systems. Applications include fleet management systems with real-time surveillance video, or in-vehicle infotainment systems to provide digital signage content to passengers.
The VW-1104 includes four BNC inputs for capturing CCTV video and an onboard H.264 codec chip to convert video streams to high quality, highly compressed H.264 video. This allows the VW-1104 to serve as a very compact surveillance system that can be installed in moving vehicles.
At the core of the platform is an ultra-low voltage Intel Atom N270 CPU. The 1.6GHz processor delivers sufficient processing power for a wide range of applications while drawing very little power, enabling completely fanless system design. The fanless design results in improved reliability essential for mobile deployment.
“The Lanner VW-1104 crams an extremely wide range of features into a little fanless box,” said Kevin Chen, Lanner’s video communications product manager. “Additionally, its ruggedized electrical and mechanical design ensures stable operation in harsh conditions, and its low power consumption, small size and fanless design make it a perfect platform for any industrial-grade video capture and delivery application.”
The Lanner VW-1104 is currently available in limited supply for sample orders. For more information or to request a sample, contact a Lanner representative or visit our website.
