Zagreb Airport

ALSTEF has been awarded a contract for the design and installation of the baggage handling system at Zagreb Airport, Croatia, by Bouygues Batiment International Croatia.

Bouygues Batiment International Croatia will be responsible for the construction of a new terminal at Zagreb Airport, which has been operated by the MZLZ consortium since 2013. The consortium comprises Bouygues Batiment International, Aéroports de Paris Management, TAV Airports and a subsidiary of the World Bank.

The contract awarded to ALSTEF includes:

  • The design and installation of an additional check-in island with a separate screening line within the existing terminal, which recently became operational
  • The design and installation of a comprehensive baggage handling system, including automated baggage handling, hold baggage screening and sorting of bags at arrivals and departures, as well as two new 15-desk check-in islands (with the option of adding two more units), two ‘Standard 3’ screening lines, an automatic sorter and four baggage delivery lines

The works will be completed over a 30-month period, in time for the opening of the new terminal in the last quarter of 2016.
