Ink Innovation, the provider of advanced departure control and passenger handling solutions, and BAGTAG, the global leader in electronic bag tags (EBTs), have entered into a new partnership to make BAGTAG’s platform directly available to all airlines using Ink’s systems.
Through this collaboration, BAGTAG is now fully integrated into the Ink ecosystem, making it easy for airlines to implement digital baggage tagging within their check-in flows. Passengers can prepare their baggage at home using the BAGTAG mobile app, streamlining their journey before even leaving for the airport.
BAGTAG fits perfectly with ZERO, Ink’s new concept that redefines the airport experience. Ink ZERO takes passengers through check-in, bag drop, security, and boarding without paper or mobile phones. Using electronic bag tags within this environment supports a truly digital, efficient, and touchpoint-light journey
Ink Innovation CEO Shawn Richards said: “The partnership with BAGTAG represents another step toward delivering a truly paperless and fully digital passenger journey we build. Integration of electronic bag tags directly into our ecosystem gives airlines the tools to modernise their operations and drive real innovation in the airport experience.”
BAGTAG managing director Jasper Quak said: “It’s always inspiring to work with partners who share a clear vision. That’s exactly what we’ve found in our collaboration with Ink. Thanks to this partnership, all Ink customers can now effortlessly offer BAGTAG solutions to their staff, crew, and passengers. It’s a significant step forward in the adoption of digital baggage solutions, like electronic bag tags, and marks an important milestone in making them more widely usable across the industry.”
The BAGTAG-enabled flow within ZERO will be demoing live at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2025 in Madrid on 8-10 April. To schedule a live demo, visit the Ink Innovation website.
