BEUMER Group, a leading global supplier of automated baggage handling systems, will highlight the latest energy-efficient automated baggage handling technologies at the 12th Airport Show Dubai, from 22 – 24 May 2012.
The BEUMER Group stand will feature a section for the energy-efficient CrisBag tote-based baggage transport system, as well as video of a state-of-the-art baggage handling system in operation at Helsinki Airport. The Helsinki system, which was designed, manufactured and installed by Crisplant, a BEUMER Group company, integrates a CrisBag transport system with the high-speed LS-4000 tilt-tray sorter. The LS-4000 achieves the industry’s lowest energy consumption, with a 75% reduction compared to conventional sorters.
Klaus Schäfer, managing director, Crisplant, comments: "With offices in Jeddah and UAE, and installations in Doha, New Doha and Dubai airports, Crisplant has proven expertise as an integrator of major baggage handling systems within this region. The combination of our global experience, sound financial credentials and in-house manufacturing facilities, allows Crisplant to ensure long-term local support to airports implementing the most advanced and energy-efficient baggage systems."
Crisplant’s expertise as an integrator of large-scale baggage handling systems has been demonstrated with the recent award of major contracts by Calgary International Airport’s International Facilities Project (IFP), and Düsseldorf Airport.
Calgary’s IFP will be the single largest expansion that the airport has undertaken, and will include a new terminal with a fully integrated end-to-end baggage handling system which will meet passenger growth forecasts up to 2025.
Düsseldorf’s new system uses the CrisBag® tote system to link the airport’s three terminals, enable compliance with the new EU Standard 3 for screening and provide a shorter connection time for transit passengers.
BEUMER Group will be on stand no H117 at Airport Show Dubai from 22 – 24 May 2012.
