Material handling industry veteran, George Parr, to focus on key corporate accounts
Cincinnati, OH: March 18, 2004 – FKI Logistex® Automation Division announces the hiring of George Parr as national accounts manager, east coast, for its Custom Engineered Systems (CES) group. The CES group serves the material handling needs of heavy industries, such as steel, automotive, and rail transport. Parr, who is based in Lancaster, PA, will be responsible for key corporate system sales along the eastern seaboard.
Parr began his material handling career after graduating from Villanova University with a BS in mechanical engineering. In 1968, he joined Lamson Corp. (now Lambert Material Handling), a conveyor and pneumatic tube system manufacturer, as an engineer and was later promoted to district sales manager.
Parr, who has more than 25 years in the material handling industry, worked in subsequent positions in sales and account management for Buschman and Mathews Conveyor (both now part of FKI Logistex) and Rapistan (now Siemens Dematic). He was also a partner in a material handling company specializing in pneumatic tube systems for hospitals.
In his new position, Parr will report to Dick Montague, director of industrial sales, FKI Logistex Automation Division.
Parr is married with three children.
