An unmanned Russian cargo ship Progress M-28M launched a Soyuz-U rocket from Baikonur in Kazakhstan has successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
The successful cargo delivery comes after a series of failures to resupply the orbital laboratory.
In June, a SpaceX Falcon 9 intended to carry cargo to the station exploded two minutes after lift-off at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, US.
Earlier this year, a Progress capsule suffered an unidentified failure and crashed into Earth’s atmosphere. Orbital Sciences’ Antares rocket carrying station cargo for Nasa exploded last year.
The transport ship carried around 2.4t of fuel, oxygen, food, scientific equipment and other supplies, Russian space agency Roscosmos said.
Roscosmos was quoted by AFP as saying: "The transport cargo ship Progress M-28M has docked with the… Russian segment of the ISS at 10:11am Moscow time (0711 GMT)."

For the next four months, the Progress will remain docked to the station and will be filled with discarded items before it falls back to Earth over the Pacific Ocean.
