Globalstar’s six second-generation satellites are being prepared for launch atop a Soyuz 2 rocket from Baikonur Cosmodrome.

All six spacecraft are now at the Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, with the remaining three recently delivered satellites to join the initial three for final check-out and fuelling.

One of the spacecraft has already completed the processes and has been integrated on the conical-shaped dispenser that will carry the six-satellite cluster into orbit.

The satellites will be deployed in a 920km circular orbit, inclined 52°.

The launch will take place on 19 October 2010.
