An Airblue flight from Karachi to Islamabad in Pakistan crashed yesterday, killing everybody on board.

The Airbus A321 carrying 146 passengers and six crew left Karachi at 07.50 local time (03.50 GMT), before losing contact with traffic control before landing.

The crash happened in the Margalla Hills near Islamabad and initial reports of at least five survivors were refuted by local officials, with rescue efforts restricted by a lack of roads in the area.

Witnesses claim to have seen the plane flying low over the capital before it crashed into the hills. Express24/7 journalist Anjum Rahman said: “I wondered why the plane wasn’t flying higher as it was flying towards the hill. Then within three or four minutes I heard a loud explosion,” according to the BBC.
