Rolls-Royce will deliver 24 Trent 700 engines to power 11 Airbus A330 aircraft in Aeroflot’s fleet.
The Trent engine marked its presence in Russia with its first flight on an Aeroflot A330 aircraft in December 2008.
As the only engine specifically designed for the A330, the Trent 700 has won over 70% of new orders over the last three years.
The engine, with the highest in-service thrust of 72,000lb, has a three-shaft design that means it has fewer stages, giving lower maintenance costs and weight, and better performance retention.
The Trent 700 is the first in-service engine to feature the second-generation wide-chord fan blade.
