US business jet carrier JSX announced its intention to purchase up to 332 hybrid-electric aircraft from Electra, Aura Aero, and Heart Aerospace to create a “future for small community air transportation”.
JSX has signed Letters of Intent to acquire up to 82 Electra eSTOL aircraft, up to 150 Aura Aero Era aircraft and up to 100 Heart Aerospace ES-30 aircraft.
The American airline said it aims to develop the next chapter of regional aviation. Aligning with a call from the Biden administration last week, the government aim to reach 65% emissions reduction by 2030.
According to JSX, this agreement will maintain the inclusion of small markets, as major carriers acquire larger and larger aircraft, minor markets will face abandonment.
Alex Wilcox, JSX CEO & Co-Founder highlighted an emphasis on the inclusion of small markets.

The Electra eSTOL (electric Short Takeoff and Landing) aircraft has a range of up to 500 nautical miles and can transport 9 people.
