Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has signed a Pool Programme Service Agreement with Scoot to support the airline as its fleet of nine E190 aircraft arrive.

The service agreement will oversee access given for repair services to over 300 repairable parts on Scoot’s Embraer aircraft.

This will allow the Singaporean airline to minimise investments in high-value repairable inventories and resources while taking advantage of Embraer’s technical expertise and its component repair service provider network.

The E190-E2 jet is the first of the E2 family to feature a range of 2,850 nautical miles and, as reported by Embraer, "is designed to deliver the best performance" with its efficiency.

Scoot's COO Ng Chee Keong said: “This strategic arrangement with Embraer will minimise maintenance delays for the E190-E2, essentially boosting operational readiness.”

Scoot is set to be the first airline to receive a batch of E190-E2 aircraft, which boasts the longest maintenance intervals in the single-aisle jet category.

According to Embraer, the aircraft is designed to be operated with minimal downtime, with 10,000 flight hours for basic checks and no calendar limit for typical operations.

Embraer Services & Support president and CEO Carlos Naufel said: “Working hand in hand with Scoot, we are gearing up for the E190-E2 entry into service next year.

"We are leveraging on Singapore’s solid aviation ecosystem and we look forward to Embraer’s modern, fuel-efficient E190-E2 take the skies in Scoot’s livery.”

This agreement shall operate simultaneously with the AHEAD (Aircraft Health Analysis and Diagnosis) programme, which will provide early detection capabilities for essential systems while decreasing technical disruptions and preventing flight cancellations.

As previously reported, the low-cost airline finalised its deal with Embraer with the aim of boosting its presence across Southeast Asia.

Cryptocurrency - The world’s most polarizing technology theme

The globalization and digitization of travel and tourism are both driving the demand for easy-to-use and cheap international transaction processes and payment systems. Tourists are beginning to discover that cryptocurrencies offer such opportunities—by simplifying cross-border transactions and overcoming the associated foreign currency exchange costs. At present, cryptocurrencies are the most advanced application of public blockchains that promise benefits such as a universal means of payment and minimal fees through the removal of intermediaries.
