The aircraft manufacturing giant is expected to announce an increase in the number of aircraft it has delivered compared to 2022.

Airbus will report a 6% increase in deliveries in its first half reports for 2023, according to industry sources.

Reuters has reported that the French aircraft manufacturer will have delivered 316 aircraft in the first six months of 2023, compared to 297 in the same period for 2022.

Sources also revealed that delivery numbers in June were up 20% from last year with 72 planes delivered by Airbus through the month.

The company has already publicly marked a strong start to the year in its orders department after receiving orders for over 800 aircraft at the Pairs Air Show alone.

Though the numbers are already up on last year, Airbus still has a way to go to reach its target of delivering 720 commercial aircraft for the year, something that the company will be keen to do after failing to reach its 2022 target

Despite post-pandemic supply chain issues affecting output, aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing are looking to ramp up production in response to wider industry demand as airlines look to recover from pandemic slumps and move forward with fleet replacements.

Boeing’s recent Commercial Market Outlook highlighted the projected growth of the global aircraft fleet as it predicted that the single-aisle fleet would more than double in the next twenty years, going from 16,200 in 2022 to over 34,000 by 2042.

Airbus is expected to publish data on its aircraft deliveries on Friday and will release its first-half results on 26 July.

The company recently delivered its first A321neo model manufactured in China to a European client with the delivery of a new jet to the Hungarian Wizz Air.
