Vision-Box is set to supply an automated border control platform for Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new Passenger Terminal Building.
Bahrain International Airport is currently being transformed through the Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP), which is aimed at elevating the airport’s infrastructure, facilities and services.
Due to open in the third quarter of this year, the new Passenger Terminal Building will be equipped with advanced biometric technology and is expected to increase the airport’s annual capacity to 14 million passengers.
The technology will also help improve safety and security at the terminal while offering added convenience to passengers.
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) CEO Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah said: “The new Automated Border Control platform will play a key role in achieving this goal by giving passengers more control over their journeys and streamlining time-consuming immigration and security formalities.”
With the help of the Automated Border Control platform, Bahrain International Airport will be able to streamline border control monitoring and inspection for both departures and arrivals.
