American carrier United Airlines is reportedly halting the use of Russian airspace and is also looking to temporarily cancel two routes between the US and India.

According to CNN, the airline plans to cancel San Francisco to New Delhi and Newark to Mumbai.

In addition to temporary cancellation, United Airlines intends to re-route flights between Newark and Delhi, as well as between Chicago O’Hare and New Delhi.

Earlier this month, Russia closed its airspace for 36 nations including all the 27 EU countries but did not mention the US airline in the list.

On 2 March, the US barred all Russian aircraft and airlines from using or entering its airspace.
