Urban air mobility (UAM) infrastructure company Eve Air Mobility and Korean UAM company Moviation have announced the signature of a letter of intent (LOI) for the purchase of Eve’s ATM (Air Traffic Management) solution.
According to Eve, the software solution is a major facilitator of the implementation and scalability of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and provides critical traffic management services that will be vital in allowing the global UAM industry to expand.
Eve’s Urban ATM (UATM) proposal has been accepted as part of Korea’s K-UAM Grand Challenge.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the start of the Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) Grand Challenge, with the objective of commercialising UAM by 2025.
David Rottblatt, VP of sales and government affairs at Eve Air Mobility, emphasised how this will progress urban mobility across Korea: “South Korea is one of the first countries to begin laying the groundwork for Urban Air Mobility and this collaboration with Moviation will help demonstrate the value of Urban ATM technology to safely begin and scale UAM operations in Korea,”
“Eve’s Urban ATM solution, based on existing air traffic control software for piloted, passenger-carrying aircraft, provides services for air navigation service providers, urban authorities, fleet operators, vertiport operators and other UAM stakeholders.”

By GlobalDataAccording to a thematic report from GlobalData, electric aircraft and eVTOL production was created to “proliferate short-range air travel in congested cities” and has overseen rapid growth with over 500 designs publicised since 2011.
The urban air environment will rely on Eve’s integrated systems, services and technologies from take-off to landing to enable the safe launch of an efficient and predictable ecosystem to support eVTOL operations.
The progress of infrastructure and regulation in the future will rely on these network management services to enable autonomous flying.
This agreement further represents a positive step forward in terms of UAM regulation, a step which GlobalData stressed as vital in creating an “entirely novel commercial aviation segment“.
Moviation CEO Min Shin emphasised the technological advancements expected from this agreement: “Both companies will be committed to contributing to the global advancement of the UAM industry through the UATM systematic accumulation and dissemination of data.
“Moviation is dedicated to delivering a secure and reliable Urban Air Mobility service by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. This includes the seamless integration of the UATM system, achieved through rigorous testing and the systematic accumulation of flight data, in close collaboration with Eve.”
