Rosen Aviation has increased its line of high-end OLED screens through the introduction of the 97in 4K OLED cabin display, which claims to be the largest display in the aviation sector.
As reported by Evaint, the supplemental type certificate for a VIP aircraft is expected to be completed later this year and Rosen’s 97in OLED will be the biggest ever known to be fitted into an aircraft cabin, measuring over 8 feet in diagonal length.
In an announcement, Rosen’s senior VP of strategy Lee Clark stated: “This project for an undisclosed client has been in the works for some time now and to see it come to fruition is nothing short of an amazing achievement.
“We are taking one giant eight-foot step towards closing the gap between what’s available at home and what we can put on an aircraft.”
This announcement follows the introduction of 65in and 77in screens across 2022, which, according to AIN, are estimated to weigh just 36lbs and a mere 43lbs.
Clark emphasised how “the larger sizes really highlight the amazing benefits of OLED technology”. Rosen added that “a comparably sized 65in+ LED display could weigh nearly a hundred pounds”.
