Pune International Airport in India will be closed for flight operations for 14 days from 26 April to 9 May due to runway resurfacing work.
The airport at Lohegaon operates from land owned by the Indian Air Force.
The repair work at the airport commenced on 26 October 2020.
The airport authorities stated: “As per information received from Indian Air Force (IAF), due to runway resurfacing works, Pune Airport will have no flight operations for 14 days from 26 April 2021 till 9 May 2021.”
Flights currently operate from Pune only during the day.
Prior to the lockdown, the airport handled an average of 170 flights every day.

The airport is set to have an integrated terminal building with an investment of Rs4.75bn ($87.96m).
The new terminal will be able to handle around 1,700 domestic passengers and 600 international passengers during peak hours. Work on the terminal is expected to be completed by March next year.
Meanwhile, Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced that Aireon’s space-based ADS-B air traffic surveillance system has been successfully deployed across Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata’s oceanic airspaces.
The contract for the implementation of the service was signed between the parties 18 months ago.
With vast airspace of more than nine million squared kilometres, the new air traffic surveillance system will offer enhanced safety, greater visibility and improved efficiency across AAI’s highly trafficked zone.
It will also reduce delays by refining communications and data sharing between Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Aireon system addresses these issues by more precise reporting of an aircraft’s position, offering aircraft economical flight levels with preferred changes in routes.
