Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) in the UK has started the next phase of terminal upgrade works to improve services for departing passengers.
The airport is investing about £4m to refurbish and upgrade about 2,000m² of its departure lounge.
The renovation will bring the lounge in line with those areas of the terminal that have already undergone similar enhancements over the past 18 months.
LJLA interim commercial manager David Taylor said: “We are looking to create a real ‘wow factor’ for passengers as we welcome them into the departure lounge, further enhancing the customer experience and building on the really positive passenger feedback following the completion of the first phase of terminal improvements earlier this year.
“We believe these latest improvements and additions to the lounge will continue to grow our reputation as the faster, easier, friendlier airport of choice for passengers as we look to create the airport our region loves.”
Scheduled for completion in June 2017, the improvement works will include a reconfigured retail area for new and existing retail partners, new washroom facilities and seating, and large flight information screens.
