Norwegian air navigation service provider (ANSP) Avinor is to modernise its existing air traffic management (ATM) system.
In order to develop its existing technology from Indra, the company has also revealed plans to collaborate with NATS, the UK-based air traffic services and innovative solutions provider, by entering the iTEC alliance.
This will help Avinor to provide enhanced services and meet requirements for the European Union’s (EU) Single European Sky programme.
Avinor En-route Services director Jan-Gunnar Pedersen said: "This investment decision is an important milestone for Avinor.
"With this investment, we will have an upgraded system which will enable us to deliver on the targets SESAR and the Single European Sky programme, at a lowest possible cost and complexity.
"This will enable us to provide the best possible services to our customers, while maintaining our attractive unit rate."
