UK-based engineering company Mott MacDonald has completed the conceptual planning work for Macau International Airport’s passenger terminal in China.
Mott MacDonald was selected as the sole consultant by Macau International Airport (CAM) and is responsible for the planning of structural, electrical and mechanical engineering elements, as well as necessary airport systems.
While the current terminal and airport site have supported the passenger traffic to date, an expansion is being undertaken to accommodate the expected increase in international flights.
The consultancy also conducted passenger flow analysis to determine the required passenger facilities for the departures and arrivals hall extension.
The draft tender documents for the design-and-build contract have also been produced.
Mott MacDonald project director Jason Wong said: "Our Hong Kong and UK-based aviation and engineering experts have worked together closely to ensure the project was completed successfully within three months."
