Luxembourg Airport has handled nearly 2.5 million passengers in 2014, marking an increase of 12.3% when compared with the same period in 2013.
The airport handled around 270,000 additional passengers in one year.
The rise was driven by Luxair which opened three new destinations, including Dublin, Stockholm and Lisbon, increased frequencies on several other routes such as Milan, London, Copenhagen and Porto, as well as developing competitive prices.
The airport said that easyJet has also significantly contributed to this rise, by launching a new service to Lisbon at the end of 2013 in addition to London and Milan.
Turkish Airlines, which started flying to Luxembourg in 2013, has almost tripled its traffic through additional frequencies that now allow connection to everyday Istanbul and the rest of the world.
The increase in passenger traffic is contributed by nearly all 11 airlines operating in Luxembourg.
