Canadian regional carrier Jazz Aviation (Jazz) has extended its Smarts Parts agreement with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft to offer longer-term component support for its Q400 aircraft fleet until December 2025.
Under the new deal, Jazz will continue to receive complete component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and have access Bombardier's spare part exchange pool.
Jazz will also be able to use an on-site inventory based at its hubs in Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver and Calgary, Canada.
The deal was originally planned to end by 2020.
Jazz Aviation maintenance and Engineering Vice President Kal Rebin said: "Jazz and Bombardier Commercial Aircraft began their Smart Parts relationship in 2012, when we selected Bombardier to provide component maintenance support to our then-new fleet of 15 Q400 aircraft.
“Since then, Jazz has benefited from the ready availability of spare parts that the programme provides and our Q400 fleet has grown to 39 aircraft.
