Canada-based Flyht Aerospace Solutions has entered a deal with Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company (GAMECO) to provide repair services to its customers in China.
GAMECO currently provides aircraft and airborne component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
Under the new deal, GAMECO will operate a repair facility in Guangzhou to service the automated flight information reporting system (AFIRS) units bought by Flyht’s customers in the region.
In addition, GAMECO has become the exclusive service centre in China for Flyht supplied and serviced products.
Flyht Aerospace Solutions operations and customer fulfilment VP Matieu Plamondon said: “With the growth of the market for AFIRS in China, we wanted to introduce maintenance support in the region to provide service alternatives for our customers.
“FLYHT’s business in China has grown significantly in the last few months.

Offering aircraft intelligence and cockpit communications for the aerospace industry, the company has served more than 50 customers operating in airlines, leasing companies and original equipment manufacturers.
Flyht’s patent AFIRS is compatible with several aircraft types and provides safety services, voice and text messaging, on-demand streaming of flight data recorder, data collection and transmission, as well as engine and airframe data services.
The company has recently modified a contract, which involves its AFIRS and was announced last month, with an IT company that implements data solutions for Chinese commercial aviation operators.
