Sikorsky unit LifePort has received airworthiness approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its patient loading utility system (PLUS) to be equipped onboard Pilatus PC-12/47 and PC-12/47E aircraft.
The newly awarded supplemental type certificate (STC) has also extended the use of PLUS application across various Pilatus aircraft.
Compatible with both executive and commuter aircraft configurations of Pilatus, the STC includes an incubator configuration with a utility sled, oxygen shroud, and mounting plates for an incubator.
A dual composite oxygen bottle configuration that reduces weight and increases capacity has also been approved.
LifePort noted that its Fixed-Wing PLUS can be attached directly to the aircraft seat track and is suitable for several multi-mission roles.
LifePort air medical and seating business general manager James McDaniel said: "LifePort is proud to continue developing leading solutions for medical operators worldwide."
