Società Esercizi Aeroportuali (Sea), Milan airports operator and Italy’s air navigation service provider ENAV have signed an agreement to implement a computer platform at Milan’s airports to improve the management of traffic flow and the use of airport resources and facilities.
As per the agreement, the airport collaborative decision-making (A-CDM) platform will be shared by all stakeholders involved in the operating process to optimise the management of flights and improve turnaround times and the assistance of airplanes on the ground.
The platform, which has already been deployed in European airports, including Munich, Frankfurt, Paris and Brussels will be tested in Malpensa, Linate in Milan, as well as Fiumicino and Venice airports.
SEA president Giuseppe Bonomi said: "In this way, SEA takes a step further for optimisation of the air traffic flow management, positioning itself between the airports Europe’s most advanced."
"This arrangement enables the reduction of congestion at peak times, better planning of the departures, better management of resources the actors involved," Bonomi said.
According to SEA, the new platform will enable the airports to achieve better safety and reduce pollution.
