Delta Air Lines has opened its latest $175m expansion to Terminal 4’s Concourse B at John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York, US.
Upgraded as part of the airline’s $1.2bn investment in modernising the airport’s Terminals 2 and 4, the latest expansion features 11 new gates, in addition to 75,000ft² of space, together with enclosed jetways and restaurants.
Delta Air Lines president Ed Bastian said: “The newest enhancements at Terminal 4 underscore the significant investment Delta is making in New York City’s airports, nearly $2bn over the last six years.”
The latest upgrade will enable shifting about 80% of domestic Delta Connection flights at JFK from Terminal 2 to the expanded Concourse B in Terminal 4, further streamlining travel for those with connecting flights.
The expansion also adds a new JFK Jitney bus stop at the end of Concourse B in Terminal 4 near the new gates, complementing the already existing stops located by gates B18 and C60.
Other new additions as part of the upgrade include enhanced check-in and electrical outlets at every waiting area seat.
