Baggage handling systems supplier BEUMER Group has received a contract to design, install, deliver, and commission an upgrade to the international arrivals baggage reclaim carousels at Glasgow Airport in Scotland, UK.
The deal is part of Glasgow Airport’s strategic plan to create a modern airport, and support future growth in passenger numbers.
The carousels in the international arrivals baggage hall currently rely on outdated equipment that is no longer supported by the manufacturer.
The equipment compromised the systems’ reliability, and the airport’s ability to maintain them.
BEUMER Group will deliver three new carousels, which will offer high reliability and throughput, as well as offering passengers a faster reclaim process.
The control software for the BEUMER Group carousels will be completely integrated into the existing control system of Glasgow Airport.
