Munich Airport has adopted A-CDM solution from technology solutions provider Amadeus, which the latter claims, has helped optimise the airport resources with close to 377,000 aircraft movements in 2014.
The Amadeus Airport Sequence Manager solution was developed by Amadeus in partnership with Munich Airport to enhance the overall capacity and is a part of the airport’s A-CDM initiative that it has implemented since 2007.

The airport has succeeded in reducing airlines’ fuel costs, CO2 emissions and slot wastage with the solution, claims Amadeus.
It has also helped the airport cushion the impact of adverse conditions on flight departure planning.
Amadeus said that with the solution’s de-icing sequence functions, the airport will be able to better manage the impact of adverse weather conditions on airport operations along with improving departure time.
Owing to the limiting of departure restrictions due to thunderstorms, the airport will be able to optimise the use of its resources.

"Amadeus Airport Sequence Manager contributes to taking our A-CDM initiatives further and brings the capacity of our runways to the maximum level possible. Ultimately, we are convinced that it will play a part in achieving operational excellence, taking MunichAirport to the next level."
The deployment of the solution has resulted in 50% reduction in waiting time at the runway head, 22% improvement in flight slot adherence and improvement in the inbound compared to the outbound delay.
Amadeus head of airport IT John Jarrell said: "Many airports today are largely constrained in their ability to transform the efficiency of airport operations, and are not able to share accurate information across all channels in a timely manner.
"The deployment of Airport Sequence Manager has led to a shared situational awareness among all airport partners which has created a more integrated, intelligent airport system with some good initial results."
