Global developer of operational air traffic management systems Adacel has participated in a trajectory-based operation (TBO) and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) integration demonstration project.
The global developer participated in the project at the Florida NextGen Test Bed, which was conducted at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida, US.
Sponsored by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the project aims to improve existing TBO concepts through research and development.
It also aims to use UAS systems as a platform within Class A airspace to integrate four-dimensional trajectory (4DT) operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The project will reveal standards and benefits for the future integration of UAS into the NAS.
It will involve the inspection of trajectory negotiation processes, which are used to fix issues that arise during flights.
