The McKinney National Airport in the US has completed construction on a new hangar as part of a public-private partnership with Western LLC.
With a capacity to store up to four Gulfstream G-550 aircraft, the 40,000ft2 hangar will have office spaces that are ready for tenant finish out in addition to eight fully enclosed garage spaces for car storage.
McKinney Airport director Ken Carley said: “Everything you can measure at the airport is trending up, from operations to fuel sales.
“This public-private partnership with Western LLC allowed the city to capitalise on their expertise and reputation as a well-respected developer in the aviation industry while helping us meet the demands of new businesses pouring into Collin County and the larger Dallas area.”
The new structure also features a 300ft clearspan with 28ft-high doors.
Western LLC president and managing member Brad Henderson said: “The McKinney National Airport and McKinney Air Center have been receiving national recognition for many years and we are thrilled to be part of their development as they move to bring their facilities on par with their reputation for world-class service.”

By GlobalDataLast April, the airport started construction on its new 17,000 square foot fixed base operator (FBO) and executive terminal.
The transient hangar and executive terminal are designed for the McKinney Air Center, the FBO providing fuel services to the aviation community at the airport.
According to the 2018 Texas Aviation Economic Impact Study released by the TxDOT, McKinney National Airport has an economic impact of more than $212m annually to the City of McKinney and the surrounding region, representing a 382% rise from the previous economic impact study published in 2011.
