Lithuanian Airports has announced plans to offer passengers nearly 40 direct routes from May as the summer season of aviation gains momentum.
The direct routes for leisure and business travel will be operated at Lithuania’s Vilnius (VNO), Kaunas (KUN) and Palanga (PLQ) airports.
Lithuanian Airports Aviation Services head Aurimas Stikliūnas said that the general trends in Europe show signs of recovery in passenger aviation.
Stikliūnas said: “Not only are people longing for travel, but they are aware even clearer that the virus will not go away quickly, so they more often decide not to wait and start looking for a destination to fly to. We believe that the offers of new directions will meet their needs.
“In May, new routes will be offered from Vilnius and Kaunas airports. The directions will be relevant both for those flying in popular directions among emigrants or for business purposes and for passengers wishing to have a holiday.”
At Vilnius Airport, the Irish airline Ryanair plans to offer direct flights to Athens, Paris and Oslo from its air gate starting from May. Flights to Moscow (Aeroflot) started on 30 April.
