Travel retail firm Hudson Group has secured a three-year contract extension from Fraport Maryland for its retail operations at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in the US.
The extended contract involves more than 15,900ft² in retail space in addition to the conversion of two Hudson News locations to Hudson stores.
BWI Marshall Airport executive director Ricky Smith said: “Our world-class concessions programme delivers a high-level of service and quality products. We are pleased to continue working with Hudson Group to provide an excellent travel experience for our passengers.”
The contract extension announcement in Baltimore comes after the recent opening of the Hudson Group store in Atlanta.
Fraport Maryland vice-president Brett Kelly said: “Fraport and Hudson Group share the goal of exceeding the expectations of the BWI Marshall traveller. They’ve been a long time partner of ours and we’re pleased that we’ll be working together into the future.”
BWI Marshall Airport served more than 26 million travellers last year.
Hudson Group president and CEO Joseph DiDomizio said: “We thank Fraport Maryland and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for their continued partnership, and look forward to building out our shared vision to meet the ever-changing needs of passengers.”
Hudson Group operates more than 1,000 duty-paid and duty-free stores including travel essentials and convenience stores, bookstores, duty-free shops, branded speciality stores and electronics stores in 88 locations such as airports, among others.
