North American travel retailer Hudson Group has won a retail package for Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) from the terminal operator LaGuardia Gateway Partners.
Under the terms of the new contract, Hudson Group will design the first FAO Schwarz airport and travel destination store.
The new travel outlets will feature signature FAO Schwarz toys and games, and New York literary culture with McNally Jackson, who is New York City’s independent bookseller.
Additional brands represented in the new retail package include travel essentials and convenience brand Hudson, LaGuardia Dufry Duty-Free and M∙A∙C, a professional makeup brand.
LaGuardia Gateway Partners chief commercial officer Ed Baklor said: “Hudson’s iconic brand coupled with its new and exciting concepts makes the company an ideal partner for this new contract.
“Hudson Group has been delivering unique concepts that cater to the immediate needs and wants of travellers at LGA for over 30 years and we are excited to extend and expand the company’s contract at Terminal B.”

By GlobalDataThis new agreement is for space in the concourse of the reimagined Terminal B, which spans across 1.3 million square feet and includes 35 gates. It also has more than 25 food and retail offerings.
The terminal also features dual pedestrian bridges that spread active taxi lanes connecting the main part of the terminal to two island concourses.
Hudson Group president and CEO Joseph DiDomizio said: “The new contract highlights how diligently we work to ensure that airport concessions are evolving to meet the growing needs of travellers.
“This is especially true for LGA, as our competitive bid will bring the nation’s oldest and most iconic toy brand, FAO Schwarz, into airports for the first time at the City’s oldest commercial airport.”
Hudson Group, a Dufry Company, operates more than 1,000 duty-paid and duty-free stores in 88 locations, including airports and commuter terminals among others.
