Honda Aircraft Company has opened a new facility at its headquarters in Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, US.
The 83,100ft² Wing Production and Service Parts facility houses a main wing assembly hangar, service parts warehouse for parts storage and distribution, paint booth, and office areas.
The new facility will facilitate a new wing assembly process for the HondaJet Elite.
It will also enable the concurrent assembly of more wings, thereby increasing its production efficiency.
The HondaJet has a global fleet exceeding 170 aircraft and recording more than 63,000 flight hours.
Honda Aircraft Company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino said: “Honda is a mobility technology company, and our newest facility further increases the efficiency of assembly. It also will house more service parts to support the rapidly growing HondaJet fleet.

The company said that construction of the new facility completed in September 2020 after breaking ground in late July 2019.
The new facility has been developed with an investment of $24.3m and will complement the company’s existing 133-acre campus.
Honda has so far invested more than $245m in its North Carolina facilities.
