European low-cost airline easyJet said it is aiming to “streamline processes” with the help of a new Quality Engineering supplier, NTT Data. The tech company said it would support the airline to increase productivity across the organisation and test new customer experience changes.

The airline hopes to achieve faster releases from airport gates by increasing efficiency across its entire workflow.

NTT Data said its “global network of Quality Assurance specialists” would work on a new strategy with EasyJet, including “more than 55 experts in [NTT’s] Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence in the UK.”

“NTT Data will provide both advisory services and a technology roadmap in the Quality Engineering space to enable efficient in-built quality checks across the full engineering lifecycle,” the company explained.

Simon Prior, head of Quality Engineering at EasyJet said the area had become a “top priority” for the carrier.

“Modernising our Quality Engineering practices is a top priority for our organisation so we needed to find a strategic partner to drive enhancements and efficiencies through innovation, automation, and a modern testing approach,” he explained.

Richard Nettleship, vice president for operations & delivery for industry at NTT Data said innovation and standardisation worked hand in hand in the new strategy.

“We are proud to be delivering Quality Engineering services for EasyJet and this new deal demonstrates the strength of the relationship that we have built over the past year. By working collaboratively with EasyJet, we will drive value and innovation, increase efficiency, and help simplify their current ecosystem through standardisation and alignment across ways of working, processes, and technologies,” he said.

“We also wanted to make sure that we found a partner that was a cultural fit for our organisation. Quality Engineering is a critical part of our business and NTT DATA emerged as the obvious choice to be our preferred supplier given the skills and experience it has in this area. We are pleased to have built a trusted strategic partnership with them over the past year and we look forward to continuing our work together over the next three years,” Prior added.
