American Airlines Group Inc and Qantas Airways Ltd intend to form a joint venture (JV) to organise pricing and schedules.
The JV is aimed at providing improved services for their passengers flying on routes between the US, Australia and New Zealand.
It is expected to result in consumer benefits worth $300m a year.
The deal is subject to approval by the US regulatory authorities.
Air Canada has announced the offering of Series 2018-1, Class A and Class B Trust Certificates through a private placement to raise C$301.41m ($238.47m).
The Series 2018-1, Class A Trust Certificates carry an interest rate of 3.67% a year, while the coupon rate of Class B Trust Certificates is 4.19% a year.

Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have partnered on the Bulgarian National Airspace Strategy to provide passengers with significant commercial and safety benefits.
The partners will strengthen their co-operation to create and implement airspace strategy to support Bulgaria’s aviation sector and economic growth by modernising airspace and air traffic management (ATM) network.
The strategy will also optimise flight paths and airspace between regions and improve punctuality of flights.
Austrian firm Frequentis has been selected to provide its voice communication system to German air navigation service provider Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS).
Frequentis will deliver VCS3020X systems for installation at nine airport towers as part of DFS’s tower modernisation project.
The new system supports ED-137 Voice-over IP (VoIP) technology. It will allow DFS to continue to provide safe and efficient tower services in the county.
It can be monitored from a central station and upgraded remotely.
