Dayton International Airport (DAY) in the US is reportedly aiming to invest over $40m in the following years to improve its infrastructure.
The plan is to upgrade the airport’s concourses, consolidate its concession area and shorten the walk distance to its gates, reported the Dayton Daily News.

The move comes after the Dayton Airport completed several stages of its terminal masterplan over the last few years.
This covered over $30m worth of projects to replace terminal entrances and refurbish the terminal canopy and interior.
The airport now plans to build two new elevated connectors to reduce the walking distance from the TSA checkpoint to its concourses by nearly 44%.
These connectors will offer more direct footpaths to Concourses A and B.

By GlobalDataThe new connectors will be nearly 300ft long, aviation officials told the publication. In comparison, the current connectors are about 550ft long.
Additionally, the new connectors will feature modern mechanical and lighting systems.
According to the officials, the connector project and other concourse access improvements are projected to cost over $37m and are expected to be finished by 2024/2025.
Dayton International Airport aviation director Gil Turner said that the airport will also merge its food concessions into a new second-floor area, bringing it closer to the gates.
Earlier, Dayton sanctioned a $5.7m contract with Setterlin Building Company for the execution of a public circulation enhancement project.
The airport managed 776 flights in April 2021. It is expected to handle about 1,320 flights in April.
In November 2020, Transportation Security Administration at Dayton Airport installed a credential authentication technology unit.
