English Premier League team Chelsea Football Club has joined the likes of Manchester City FC and Palmieras in Brazil by partnering with a well-known aviation brand.
Oman Air is now Chelsea’s “Official Airline Partner” in what it described as a “multi-year deal”. No further specifics were released by the club or the airline.
The deal will give prominent visibility to Oman Air branding on the team’s online and social media presence, along with in-stadium advertising to target the global television viewership of the Premier League.
The airline, which flies daily between London and Muscat, has also worked with the West London club to design a limited edition plane livery, which will appear as part of its fleet this year.
The club, who play at Stamford Bridge, did not say if it will be using the plane to travel to international fixtures, but other clubs with links to airlines have used such a marketing tactic previously.
Oman Air CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi said: “Oman Air is extremely proud to partner with Chelsea Football Club. Together, we hope to expand Chelsea Football Club’s following across the world, whilst showcasing the routes that we fly and the excellence of our service.
