Boston Logan International Airport in New England, US, has deployed CLEAR biometric technology to speed up security checks.
CLEAR pods have been deployed at Terminal A.
Members of the CLEAR programme passing through Terminal A can use their biometric identity membership to verify their identity and get scanned through the security checkpoint quickly.
CLEAR membership costs $15 per month, which is to be paid annually. This membership also offers an option to add up to three family members for $50 each annually. Children under 18 can use the CLEAR Lane for free when they accompany their family members who have enrolled into the CLEAR programme.
CLEAR EVP of operations Gina Bruzzichesi said: “Everyone at CLEAR is excited to launch here at Logan because it’s an important and frequent destination for so many of our members.
“We’re especially proud about bringing new jobs here to Boston and are looking forward to working with Massport and our local TSA partners to make travelling to and from New England safer, easier and even more enjoyable.”

By GlobalDataWith this deployment, Boston Logan International Airport has become the 29th airport and the 47th location under CLEAR network.
The CLEAR programme converts consumers’ cards into a single biometric ID.
Through a partnership with Delta Air Lines, CLEAR is offering preferred pricing to its members who submit a Delta SkyMiles number.
It is also providing the benefits of Simplified Biometric ID and Boarding Pass Verification facility, which exempts members from showing an ID or scanning their boarding pass at the security checkpoint.
Boston Airport Operations director for Delta Air Lines Ravi Dadhich said: “Delivering a quicker journey through security with CLEAR is another important way in which we’re giving our customers in Boston a superior travel experience from curb to gate.
“We know our Boston customers already value our unmatched operational excellence, award-winning customer service and leading global network. Delta’s partnership with CLEAR is further evidence of our commitment to take ever-better care of our customers. We are grateful to Massport for enabling this new security experience in Terminal A.”
More than three million CLEAR members are claimed to enjoy the secure and frictionless experience at airports, stadiums and many more places.
Boston Logan International Airport handles tens of millions of passengers each year.
Delta, which has developed a significant presence at the airport over the past few years, plans to operate at all gates at Terminal A by the third quarter of this year.
