Boeing has agreed to provide landing gear services to Uzbekistan Airways to help the airline to maintain its 787-8 Dreamliner commercial fleet more efficiently.

Under the Boeing Landing Gear Exchange programme, the company will provide landing gear exchanges to support the fleet at any time and place.

The agreement will help reduce maintenance time and enable the airline to quickly return aircraft to service.

Through the implementation of the programme, Uzbekistan Airways can also focus on core operations.

The company stated that its 787 Landing Gear Exchange programme offers customers an economical solution to manage landing gear overhauls.

The programme allows a carrier to exchange landing gears that need to be repaired or overhauled. Carriers can choose from a pool of certified landing gear offered by Boeing as part of the programme.

With the offering, operators are no longer are required to contract, schedule and manage the overhaul process.

Uzbekistan Airways operates flights to more than 40 destinations. The carrier operates a composite repair shop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in partnership with Boeing.

The 787 Dreamliner entered service in 2011. Boeing has delivered more than 1,400 787 Dreamliner planes to over 70 customers.

The aircraft is powered by GEnx-1B / Trent 1000 engine and has a wingspan of 60m.
