Strasbourg Airport (SXB) in France has awarded a contract to Alstef Group to upgrade its baggage handling system.
The contract scope includes the addition of a new make-up carousel and the modernisation of the outbound system for over-size items to enhance the terminal layout and create additional space.
Additionally, Alstef will be responsible for re-locating eight check-in counters and upgrading two feed line connections to the inbound carousels.
The technology firm has also been tasked with overhauling the PLC and SCADA systems.
In addition, Alstef agreed to provide four-year maintenance services to ensure the longevity of the equipment after the completion of a two-year warranty period.
Strasbourg Airport CEO Renaud Paubelle said: “We are very pleased to have selected the Alstef Group tailor-made solution to modernise our baggage handling system.

The project will enable the airport to comply with the latest EASA Standard 3.1 screening requirements.
Strasbourg Airport has been offering services to the Alsace region in France and the European capital of Strasbourg with leisure and business flights across Europe and the Mediterranean.
In June, Alstef secured a contract to upgrade the international terminal baggage handling and screening system at Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) in Bucharest, Romania.
The project involves the installation of 56 new check-in conveyors, 12 self-service bag drops and a new outbound sortation system with five new Standard 3 screening machines.
