Airbus has delivered the first of two wide-body A350 XWB aircraft to flag carrier Fiji Airways.
The aircraft was ready for the final assembly process phase in September.

Delivered in Toulouse, France, the A350-900 aircraft comes in two class configurations. One features 334 seats, 33 of which are dedicated for business.
The other will feature 301 economy class seats, 39 of which are BULA SPACE seats that are designed for extra legroom.
The two aircraft were previously purchased directly by Dubai-based DAE Capital from Airbus. Fiji Airways leased both A350 XWBs from DAE.
The carrier will operate the fuel-efficient aircraft on its Nadi-Los Angeles and Nadi-Sydney routes.

Powered by new Rolls-Royce engines, the aircraft features the latest aerodynamic design, a carbon fibre fuselage and wings to help reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 25%.
The order was placed in May as part of the carrier’s plans to broaden its international network.
Fiji Airways currently runs six A330 aircraft.
As of October, Airbus received 913 firm orders from 50 customers worldwide for its A350 XWB family.
Earlier this year, Starlux Airlines placed an order of 17 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft for its long-haul services.
